Currently, I am working three jobs, two of which I absolutely love! The third [the Bed & Breakfast, I could easily do without!] ;) One of my jobs is working every Wednesdays for my dear friend Lindsay's mom Cathy. Cathy is a midwife here in Salt Lake City, and in my opinion, a very good one! Before working for her, I have always wanted to do home birth and have always loved the idea of it, and now that I get to work for a midwife, my feelings are even more solidified about this amazing profession! There is the sweetest spirit and aura about Cathy, she has such a relaxing yet bubbly personality! She will DEFINITELY be delivering my babies!!! :[)
Moi, hard at work! I love this job!
Prestley, also known as Pretzel! <- TOO CUTE! is Cathy's granddaughter. She was spending the day with Grandma and sadly was not feeling well. Pretzel was wanting to cuddle with Cathy but she was upstairs tending to one of her mothers, so Pretzel came and snuggled right up in my lap. :) I was in heaven! I can't wait to have kids....someday... :/
>>> soooo cute she is! <<<
Feeling better: lollipop in hand, sitting with her cousin.

::: WOOD >>> WOOD >>> WOOD :::
Just came across this lamp by Muuto over at Design Sponge I am absolutely IN LOVE!!! It comes with either a white or green cord, I prefer the white. ah! :( just one more thing to add to my life long wish list... :)
Cape Town Designers Animal Farm have new wooden lamps called "lite" ::: they come in several different species of wood and are designed so that they can only be used with an energy saving light bulb. Neato!

Something that I really love doing is writing in my journal, online ;) but especially offline... in it's more tangible form. I have been pretty good about writing in a journal since I was about 12 or 13, but I have had dry spells throughout my life... last night after I was finished writing my entry, I went back to the very beginning to read some earlier entries.... it is soooo funny! The thing I love most about writing in my journal is getting to see how quickly my thoughts change... Something I am really grateful for is the fact that our thoughts have the ability to change. Sometimes it is for the worst and sometimes for the best. But the fact that they aren't concrete once made, is a huge relief don't you think? I wish I could have perfect thoughts and a perfect mindset, but then I would be a total robot. There are times when I get down on myself and think "why did I think or feel that Roxy?" but those were my feelings at the time, real and pure. As much as I would love to go back and erase a lot of things I wrote and re-write them... I am able [at times] to look beyond that and see the growth I have accomplished. Keeping a journal can be hard. I have many friends who say they wish they could do it, but don't have the time to do so... here is the best trick to keep a journal. Go in with the intention of ONLY writing bullet points. Write the date :) and then write 5 to 10 things that you did that day... and just be super brief... carry your journal with you. When you are waiting in line, in the car, at a restaurant etc...write these 5-10 items down...if you do this pretty consistently for a couple weeks you will then start to really write every day AND you will actually start to write in-depth entries! I PROMISE!!! It becomes so fun that 5 pages will go by and you will be having to force yourself to start writing. Plus, it is soooo therapeutic if that isn't reason enough. :)
This Millimeter/Milligram Journal was given to me by one of my dear friends Jenny Kwok of CutxPaste this past summer... this has been one of my favorites thus far...the paper quality is soo fantastic and nice to write on!
This is an entry from last month: I decided to paint a self portrait of me wearing a turban. :-p

Forgot to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. Hope everyone had a great day/weekend! I got to spend the last couple days in Alpine at my mom and stepdad's house. It was really nice and definitely insightful! I love this holiday and everything it represents. Love is such a funny funny thing! Here are some of my favorite love quotes:
"Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all." -St. Augustine
"There is no remedy for love but to love more." -Thoreau
"If you love someone, let them go. If they return to you, it was meant to be. If they don't, their love was never yours to begin with..." -Unknown
No woman ever falls in love with a man unless she has a better opinion of him than he deserves. -EDWARD W. HOWE
Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired. -Robert Frost
This last one... is so beautiful. I especially love the line "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better & happier" <<< I love that, and hope to be better about this... :/
"Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting." -Mother Theresa

ah! I can't believe I forgot to mention this! If you haven't noticed... I have been doing a lot of digital illustration lately!!! :) Well, no more rainy days for lil ol Roxy Marj... Last Saturday I took my mac to the Apple store and FINALLY got it fixed! It was my power supply that had gone caputey! So, back in business... I will confess.. All I can think about lately is photoshop.... I have been spending sooo much time with him, I would even go as far as to say that he and I are officially in a relationship! :) <3
Monday night I was at a single adult activity for my ward [a church thing for those of you who are not Mormon] annnywhoooo...I somehow brought up the subject of hickeys and how they are so weird and asked everyone "are people still giving those?" >>> this question was followed by tons of laughter and comments!! Next to cigarettes, hickeys, in my book... are officially thee SECOND worst accessory one could ever wear! So, for Valentines day my friends... please don't give a hickey... gentlemen, this is especially geared towards you...I only mention this because recently I have seen a few too many on some girls and it has been righteously tripping me out!
BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION! AH!!!!! Now I can't wait for fall all over again! ;)
