This week kicks off with videos of my Mother talking about how to get yourself
totally organized!  I told you last week that I was excited about this because of the wonders it has done for me. I wouldn't consider myself someone who is super messy and dirty, if anything I do keep a clean and orderly home...but there was SO much room for improvement, at least in our home. :]

This quick video here explains what clutter is and the first step to removing it. Enjoy!

This second video talks about what to do now that you know exactly what clutter is and to
get you ready to take the first of the 8 Streamling Steps - get some containers. Learn about these, and also a quick tip on how to never be given any "clutter" again.

I hope you enjoyed these videos. My Mom will be back tomorrow and the rest of the week with more great organizational tips. And if you have any questions she will be more than happy to answer them on here! :)

and a little note that I found tucked in one of my old stacks of paper, hence the word "old"
no more stacks folks.....they're all organized and in their rightful places.

Your Mom is darling! It's no surprise. I love love this subject. I am an interior designer and anytime I am asked to lead a discussion it always turns out that I talk for 80% of it about minimizing. It's so important and makes you feel great in your space, because you keep what you love! The 'mantra' I use is just like your quote, "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." - William Morris.

Also, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." - Leonardo Da Vinci

I love your Mom's ideas and this is such a great idea to share. Thanks!

Thanks ladies for your comments! I know it sure means a lot to my mom to hear people enthusiastic about cleaning and getting organized! :-[)

Jill, that is neat you're an interior designer! What a fun job! :) And thanks for telling me who that quote was by. I was hesitant to putting it up because I didn't have the reference but it is a good one. Anyways, I corrected it. :) and William Morris, ah! Loved learning about him in school. Eye opening for sure.

Oh I didn't think you needed to reference the quote because it wasn't a word-for-word thing, at all, it was just a similar thought. A very inspiring thought!

noooo worries! :) He's someone worth referencing anyways! :-[)

dear roxy,

i came here yesterday evening, close to midnight, because of a hint rike gave in her blog (http://www.bastisrike.de/?p=5951).
"i’m totally inspired by her latest ‘getting organized’ posts" she wrote and what shall i say - i got a swift kick in the butt, as my mom would call it. amazing!
i went straight into the bedroom and worked until 2:30 a.m. and of course i got so energized i couldn't sleep afterwards ;-)

i am so looking forward to the next videos. thanks to you and your awesome mom!
