Received a cd in the mail yesterday from my friend Dom Moore, it is of his new album "Only the Dead Know Brooklyn" I have had it on repeat for the last couple hours!!

I met Dom along with his wife Katie, and their darling baby girl Effie, a couple years
ago when I moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn. They are some of my favorite people [seriously!] and Dom is truly one of my favorite singers AND he has just completed his first album AND he asked me along with some other artist friends of his and Katie's to do some kind of illustration/artwork for his album!!! I.am.so.excited - 1. because I am a huuuge fan and 2. because I have emailed over 50/bands musicians about doing pro bono artwork for them and either they don't reply or they do saying they already have someone doing the graphic design/illustration stuff...

Check out Dom's music HERE

One of my dearest and bestest friends [Robert Fitzsimmons] came to visit me a couple weeks ago. It was a super short trip but in the little amount of time we got to spend together >>> we did A LOT! FAIR, THRIFT STORE, BIKING, CAFE, BAKERY, etc. At the bottom is a little movie montage that I made of his trip here...Robert moved to Paris yesterday... this was his text to me yesterday "In a cab now to my new life....To a place where the climate don't change....Paris" I am so jealous and excited for him! :)

Utah State Fair! SO.MUCH.FUN! <- when you're with the right people though!

Robert designed these heels and had them professionally made, they were part of his Senior Thesis... AND >>> He gave them to me!!! <<< :[)

Lunch at one of my favorite places here in Salt Lake, the Park Cafe - located in a cute little house right across the street from Liberty Park.

Listening to a remix of Golden Cage [The Whitest Boy Alive] by Frank Falke right now... this is such a late night song...a city lights song...a song, that doesn't necessarily go with what I am going to post about right now...Norman Rockwell. One of my top 5 favorite artists of all time! :) Plus, he and I went to the same design school! I would be lying if I said I didn't want to be like him. I do. I would love to be the female version of Norman Rockwell, but in a slightly more kooky way....I dunno how that will pan out, but he is someone I truly admire and look up to. When in Washington last week, I stayed the night with my good friend and old Art teacher Anne Wendt. She is still teaching art at Southridge High where I went to shool[she is only 39 & started teaching there when she was my age! So cool!] anyways, got to go to class with her for half the day. While there I came across her Norman Rockwell book and realized I have not posted anything on my blog about him... Growing up, my mom had a HUUUGE burgundy linen book on Norman, I am pretty sure it was the largest book we had in the house. I would look through the book ALL the time, and then when I got old enough to start decorating my bedroom I would always cut out pictures from it to hang on my wall or to frame... I love him! :) Not only was Norman Rockwell an amazing artist, but he himself is something of a work of art. Every photo I see of him casts some kind of spell over me. I think a lot of it has to do with him always having a pipe in his mouth! :)

recognize this one? My drawing below was from this image.

Went on a road trip last week with my buddies to Washington state! I can honestly say that I have never had soooo much fun on a road trip than I had with these guys!!! Non stop laughter to the point where I was starting to loose my voice on the drive back to SLC. The reason for the trip was because my friend Josh [pictured in the plaid top] was the best man in his friends wedding up in Spokane. And since I am originally from Tri-Cities Washington [Kennewick] and you have to pass through Kennewick to get to Spokane when coming from Utah...NATURALLY [said in my country club slurred voice] it was only right that I went with Josh, Justin [Josh's brother] and Trevor! :[) I didn't get too much drawing done but what I did get drawn was pretty nice = quality over quantity right? However, I did get a TON of photos and video of our escapade which I will post here shortly. Question: anyone have any funny road trip games that you wanna share for future trippin? ;)

Here are a couple of pictures from the Fairy Alphabet book that I was hired to illustrate. Letter Q is my favorite! :) Like I had mentioned in my previous post, this was diddy of a job! Chris Ivory, a lady here in Salt Lake City who hired me, is going to try and find someone interested in publishing this. So my fingers are crossed for that. It would be great if that happened because then I could go back and do a lot of revisions, or do them all over again...I spent about 2-4 hours on each letter when really I need an entire day!

These are pictures of the Fairy Soiree that was held at Chris Ivory's home. I believe this was their 3rd year to have the fairy party. Basically a bunch of families all get together and make "fairy" inspired items to sell at the Fairy Market, and then 100% of the proceeds go to a diabetes charity that they set up in one of their close family friends name. Chris's daughter Faith wanted to write a fairy alphabet book this year for the event, and so that is where I came into the picture!

This HUGE beautiful tent came straight from India! I want to make a mini version of one for myself, along with the tee-pee that I want make too.

Here I am with my younger sister Mari...she escorted me to the event! :[) thanks sis!

The catering was done so well and they had thee cutest items, one of which was these darling teacup cupcakes! Wish I would have gotten more pics of the food!

Next to succulents, Lambs Ear has become my new favorite plant! I could touch these little leaves for hours and hours... and supposedly they are easy to maintain. :)

Thought this bouquet of Lambs Ear is just gorgeous! Could do without the other things on the dresser... I think this would also look lovely on a table with a nice reddish/orange linen table cloth! All the pics below are from Country Living

geese! love! :)

Beautiful tree with an amzaing barn in the back! ohhhhh summer, I am going to miss you.. but so excited to greet fall! :)
