Going back to the bird series that I was working on... I have finished that. 9 birds total. Did this for my younger sister Mari [whom I live with right now] originally she had a picture of Marylin Monroe in the frame, but with a little coaxing ;) wink wink...I convinced her to let me paint some pictures of birds for her to frame, she totally liked the idea. Sewed all the paintings together to make one large one.... My favorite is the giant kingfisher and then the song bird to the right - Mari's fav. is the goldfinch. :) + sorry about these photos - forgot to take pictures before putting them in the frame. :p

asami!!! i LOVE your birds! i have a "perpetual calender" [for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.] that has a little painting of a different bird at the top of each page & this reminds me of that :) you can actually check out the artist's website here: http://janeshullbeasley.com/
anywho, you left me a comment ages ago & i never responded so i just wanted to pop over & say HI! it seems like you're having a lot of fun out in salt lake city! i'm happy to hear you're having so much fun riding your bike because i loooove riding my bike around jersey city & hoboken [& even manhattan sometimes too], although mine isn't nearly as pretty as yours! we have a car [for big grocery trips & visiting people much too far to bike to...] but i'm so much happier when i can zip around on my bike! anyways, i hope things continue to go well for you out there & you keep up with your wonderful creative projects! you've inspired me to finally get back into my much-neglected little "office" this weekend & craft it up...!

So glad you were inspired to craft it up this weekend, please do post some pictures of whatever you make as I will be checking to see what cool thing you did! I can only imagine how fun it is to rides around where you live! If you haven't already, you should ride to Mitsuwa Market!!! I MIIIISSSSSS that place sooo much! Have you been? Miss you and the rest of the girls...getting homesick for school! :) ha!
