Due to the rain, thunder and lighting today, I felt it best to post about what I found in the thrift store the other day. A book on thunder and lighting... best thing about it? Illustrated by one of my favorites : Ed Emberley!! But the cutest thing of all is in the back where it mentions the author and illustrator. What it says about Ed Emberley is this:

When he is not writing or illustrating, Ed Emberley pursues several interesting hobbies. He prints limited editions of children's books on his own hand press, studies Early Americana, and experiements with toy-making. Mr. Emberley received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. He lives in Ipswhich, Massachusetts, with his family. Ed Emberley is still alive and another fun fact is that his wife Barbara illustrated one of the children's classics DRUMMER HOFF which I had nooo idea! I need to start putting two and two together more often! :/

Those storm illustrations are so lovely. I feel like the children's book sections of thrift stores are usually so messy, I never think to look...maybe next time I will find a treasure!

oh! definitely worth check out! I just found Dare Wright's lonely doll yesterday along with another book illustrated by one of my favorite illustrators Doris Burn, called "we were tired of living in a house" <- that was a major score!!! and only 50 cents!
